Because I finally saw the extent they would go to stage everything! It wasn’t til I got to episode 5 that I gave up on the show. I also got a kick out of how they and netflix thought they could convince people that if you polished a turd of a rust bucket into something halfway decent you could charge crackhead prices for it. Of course who doesn’t enjoy the novelty eye candy (Constance) that they insisted putting in the show to get views. So being a gear head myself & knowing that it’s heavily scripted I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Although I didn’t really know he was mechanically savvy at all. Like seriously the only real thing about the show is the city of temecula and all the locations they film.Īfter living in one of the next towns close to where they film this for 10+ years & being heavily involved in the local car community in the area I can honestly say I’ve never heard of “Mark Towle” or any of his crew, except for caveman. This show is so scripted is almost not even funny. I wanted to hear what you guys thought about the show./r/Cars is the largest automotive enthusiast community on the Internet. The only thing I've enjoyed about the show are the other people in it who seem genuine and that they focus a bit on the trading and bargaining aspects. I know a lot of those aspects are probably scripted to come extent, but that doesn't excuse it. Even the main shop owner is a dickhead who is rude to everyone else and thinks he lives in this higher plane of existence where he hears what the cars want to become. I don't like criticizing shows and being pessimistic, but I just can't enjoy it. Like the power wagon they painted looked like a cow, or the band's minivan that looked like it was designed by a 12 year old who's still in their edgy phase They tear apart an old car, do some shoddy welding a panelling work, slap on some tacky water jet cut spider web grills, and finish it with a questionable paint job. At the start I thought it would just be one or two cars where they might have been targeting a certain type of buyer, but no, every car is just lacking. Out of all the cars they've built, I've only liked a few like the Lincoln Futura or the Thunderbird. The car builds they make are so tacky and unflattering. I'm always as open minded as I can be when watching shows like this, but jeez. I've recently been watching this show on Netflix mostly because I've run out of others shows to watch. r/Cars is the largest automotive enthusiast community on the Internet.
